Wellness and Workers Compensation
Most employers see wellness programs as part of a competitive benefits package meant to recruit or keep talented employees. Some may also expect to see return on investment through decreases in sick days in employees. However, combining preventative care, wellness plans and chronic disease management with a thorough safety program, companies can not only improve overall employee health but also decreasing the costs related to recovery from workplace injury. Employees with this chronic condition who haven’t enrolled in a company-sponsored health plan or only see their doctor in cases of emergency (or when they’re injured on the job) will cost more money over time.
